I know that if we have a certain amount of money to invest in the US we are eligible to get a green card. It has to employ a certain number of people. What type of business qualifies?
Yes I live, and was born and raised, here in America. This is for my father in law.

First Question: Where do you currently reside?

Second Question: If the answer to your first question was “The U.S.” or “America”, you need to kindly move back to Mexico, and immigrate legally.

Third Question: If the answer to your first question was “Mexico”, please visit
for all of the information you will need to enter the Green Card Lottery… sorry, but not everyone gets one.

If you are planning on getting into our country legally, I wish you the best of luck, and will welcome you with open arms as an American! tayljo09

If your business plan is so great (I’m assuming you have a business plan), why not invest in your own country??? Sean T

Any type of business qualifies. There are two types of these visas. EB5 and E2. The EB5 requires you to invest $500,000 into an “economically depressed area” as identified by the US government and hire 10 people (U.S. citizens) for a period of about 3 years. Then after 3 years or so, you will get a Green Card. Another option with an EB5 is to invest $1,000,000 in any city in the States and hire 10 people for a period of 3 years. If the country you are from has a Treaty with the US, then you may be able to qualify as an E2 investor. However, this depends on the country you are from and each counsulate sets hurdle limits for the amount of the investment. An E2 visa doesn’t require you hiring any specific number of people … from my recollection. By the way, I am NOT a lawyer. SBT
